This is a brick paver cleaning and sealing job we did in St. Charles this fall. When the homeowner moved into the Royal Fox neighborhood they had Unilock Brick Pavers and retaining wall blocks installed. Being on a lot with many trees providing shade the pavers, over the years became dirty and covered in green and black mold and algae. They looked horrible and were slippery to walk on in the rain because of the mold and moss.

Paver Protector was hired to clean and seal the brick driveway and Patio along with the sitting and retaining walls. We first power washed the entire surface with hot- 200 degree water to melt away the dirt, stains, mold and algae that had accumulated after 10 years of neglect. We then removed all of the old joint material which was mostly mud and dirt. The following day we returned to sweep in polymeric joint sand to fill the joints and be resistant to washing out, weeds, ant, etc.. After the sand was installed we sealed the brick pavers and retaining wall with a wet look solvent based sealer to obtain a bold wet look and to protect the pavers from stains dirt and moisture.

Upon completion the Fox Valley homeowner was very pleased witht he results, saying that once sealed it looked even better then it did new 10 years ago.
